Our law office is dedicated to providing clients with quality legal representation on a cost-effective basis. We know that you or your loved one probably did not anticipate the expense of defending against a criminal charge. Because of this reason, we at the Law Office of Troy P. Burleson, P.C. do our best the limit the financial burden you are facing.
We bill our clients on a flat fee basis. A flat rate is a one-rate payment to cover all of the costs of handling a specific legal matter such as DWI representation. The flat fee is based on certain specific assumptions about the complexity of your particular DWI case.
For example, a flat fee for a DWI charge might include: 1) a preliminary investigation into the facts and circumstances of the case; legal research; advice to the client regarding the case and any offers of plea bargain; and, a plea of guilty or no contest to the charges or to some lesser included offense that disposes of the charges, OR 2) the flat fee may include all of the above plus trial or contested hearing representation. Some or all of the following factors may be taken into account when determining a fee structure and setting a fee:
| 1. | The time and labor required, the novelty and difficulty of the questions involved, and the skill requisite to perform the legal service properly. |
| 2. | The county in which the charge is pending. Some counties and prosecutors are easier to deal with and therefore take less time for the attorney to handle your case. |
| 3. | The fee customarily charged in the locality for similar legal services. |
| 4. | The seriousness of the case, whether it is a Misdemeanor or a Felony. |
| 5. | Time limitations imposed by the client or by circumstances. |
| 6. | Nature and length of the professional relationship with the client. |
| 7. | Whether the client is seeking plea or trial representation. |
Our Fees and Rates
As noted above, there are many factors that determine the amount of Flat fee we charge a client for a particular DWI case. However, we do represent certain DWI clients for as little as $500 for a plea and $1,500 for a trial. Below, please find our fee ranges:Flat Fee range for Attorney Troy P. Burleson:
